BASEC appoints a new Chief Executive


BASEC’s Board of Management is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Tony Lioveri as the new Chief Executive. He shall be appointed as Board Director of British Approval Services for Cables (BASEC).

Tony joins BASEC with the primary focus of growing the business through building and developing an industry leading commercial team to compliment the established and reputed technical foundation of the company.

Tony has held several senior management roles in finance, strategy, e-commerce, sales and marketing with many leading brands in their technology and industrial sectors. Tony has an MBA in international strategy, as well as being a Chartered Management Accountant and marketer.

Since 2010 Tony worked for Acal PLC, within the electronics industry, laterally as UK Managing Director before leaving the business in 2016 to pursue a path in Strategy Consulting.

In joining BASEC Lioveri stated “BASEC is a great brand with an excellent reputation in the market for its technical competence and approval schemes. Now it’s about improving the customer service experience and add value through what we do to our customers businesses. This will include a more proactive engagement with our customers in the future whilst further promoting and developing the BASEC brand on the International stage”.

Joining the business on 6th November 2017, Tony will take over the Chief Executive’s role from Dr Jeremy Hodge who will remain in the business as Technical Director to enhance BASEC’s technical leadership in cable testing and certification, supporting Tony. Jeremy will remain as a Board Director of British Approval Services for Cables.

The Board of Management believe that the skills of Tony and Jeremy are entirely complimentary and in the coming months will forge to deliver growth and a winning performance for BASEC and for its customers.
